🏢 Apartment / Society EV Charger Cost Calculator

Cable run, wall-box, NOC & DISCOM maths — before you argue with the RWA.

Why it matters: Deloitte’s 2025 survey found 41% of Indian EV intenders have no dedicated home charging. Apartment NOC + install cost is one of the highest-frustration queries in the community — this calculator turns that into a shareable estimate.

⚡ Common apartment setups

📋 Your apartment setup

🔌 Charger & parking

Overnight AC charging — most Indian EVs are happy at 7.2 kW
Walk the route. Every extra metre of copper + conduit adds cost — basement runs of 25–40 m are common.
Basement usually needs armoured cable path + more labour

⚡ Electrical & DISCOM

Check sanctioned load on your electricity bill. A 7.2 kW wall-box on a 5 kW single-phase connection often needs a load enhancement — or a charger with dynamic load management.
We’ll flag if the charger likely needs an upgrade
Sub-meter helps RWA billing transparency and can unlock EV / ToD tariffs in some states
Many societies charge ₹0; some ask for a refundable deposit or admin fee

📝 Society NOC checklist

Most RWAs respond better to a clear proposal than a vague request. Use this estimate in your application pack.

  • 1Written request with flat no., parking bay, and charger make / kW rating.
  • 2Electrical sketch — dedicated circuit from your meter/DB to the bay, cable size, MCB + 30 mA RCBO, earthing note.
  • 3Licensed electrician named; offer a post-install test report.
  • 4Billing plan — flat meter or sub-meter so common-area power isn’t used unpaid.
  • 5Cite the rules — MoP EV charging guidelines (2024) support private chargers in designated parking; Maharashtra societies often have a 7-day NOC circular where safety norms are met.
Indicative only (2026 India ranges). Actual quotes vary by brand, copper prices, DISCOM state schedule, and site conditions. Always use a licensed electrician and BIS / IS 17017-compliant equipment. Never charge for hours on extension boards or ordinary multi-plugs.
